"The impact of The Family FOCCUS Initiative on students and families at Hunter Huss this year has been immeasurable. From needed school and classroom supplies to daily necessary items like bottled water and emergency snacks, I can say with certainty that nearly all our students have benefited from this generous organization.

Many of our families were also served during the holidays with special meal kits, enabling them to enjoy a nutritious family holiday meal that might have otherwise not been possible. It has been an exceptionally difficult year for many in our school family; the monthly gifts to our school are a regular reminder to our students and staff that we are all cared for and supported by our community. As always, our ultimate goal is to help our students be successful and this kind of support helps us in this endeavor." Sarah McArver

FFI acknowledges that high school seniors from low-income families and homeless students encounter major obstacles in achieving academic success, such as lower attendance, test scores, and graduation rates compared to their peers. We offer direct support through immediate, concrete resources aimed at stabilizing the essential academic and personal supplies necessary for their quality of life.

Commencement culminates the hard work and resources students invest in their diplomas. It celebrates graduates and the family and friends' support. Lack of funds for a cap and gown should never hinder participation in this essential experience.

On April 23, 2021, Sarah McArver at Hunter Huss High School contacted FFI for help with seniors struggling to buy graduation attire. FFI immediately began fundraising to ensure these students could join their peers on graduation day.

Within three days, thanks to FFI supporters' generosity, we surpassed our goal of funding thirty cap and gown sets. Thank you for donating to The Family FOCCUS Initiative. We are grateful for our amazing supporters.
